The venue for this tournament, which has been held for 34 years, changes annually. In 2025, the table tennis department of TSV Mindelheim was once again the host.
Our guests from Neuss-Weckhoven, Vanikum, Raeren, Habbelrath-Grefrath, Legden, and Flörsheim-Dalsheim therefore had a long journey to the welcome party and draw on Friday at the club house on Mühlweg. In addition to the host, the team from the friendly TTC Warmisried, which stepped in at short notice, was also included in the draw.
The two groups of four were quickly drawn, and on tournament day Saturday, the teams from Vanikum and Neuss-Weckhoven received “loan players” from TSV Mindelheim to ensure each team had 6 players. Wolf-Dieter Pechhold, who assisted Vanikum, remained undefeated throughout the entire tournament, and Chousein Amet, playing as number 1 for Neuss-Weckhoven, ultimately led “his team” to the final. After exciting matches in two groups of four, the placement matches took place, with teams playing against those in corresponding positions. The final, contested by the top two teams from each group, featured players from BV Neuss-Weckhoven and the hosts, TSV Mindelheim. After many close sets and matches, the host ultimately leveraged its home advantage, came out on top, and won the traditional 34th City Cup Tournament.
